Pepsi-Cola North America takes the stage on the Academy Awards telecast with a new commercial lineup. Pepsi-Cola unveils a new commercial that brings back the Academy Award-winning film "Spartacus," starring Kirk Douglas.

Marking the 19th consecutive year that Pepsi has advertised during the Super Bowl, four new commercials for Diet Pepsi and the Pepsi iTunes promotion debut on Super Bowl XXXIX. A description of the Pepsi Super Bowl advertising lineup follows:

Diet Pepsi -- "Diet Pepsi Truck": Sean "P. Diddy" Combs unknowingly starts a trend among Hollywood stars and people everywhere after his car breaks down and he hitches a ride to an awards show in a Diet Pepsi truck. Also featured are Eva Longoria ("Desperate Housewives"), Carson Daly ("The Carson Daly Show") and Wilmer Valderrama ("That 70's Show").

Diet Pepsi -- "Guy Watcher": A good-looking guy walking down the street while drinking a Diet Pepsi catches the attention of a number of admirers, including supermodel Cindy Crawford.

Pepsi iTunes -- "Bottle Songs": Featuring a number of popular tracks from a series of music genres, these commercials illustrate how winning a free song from the Pepsi iTunes promotion is as easy as opening a bottle of Pepsi.

In conjunction with the highly-anticipated release of "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith," Pepsi-Cola North America runs an online promotion centered around everyone's favorite Jedi Master-Yoda. In addition, Pepsi partners with 7-Eleven(r), Inc. to offer Darth Dew Slurpee and four limited-edition 3-D cups at participating stores nationwide.

"Call Upon Yoda"

Pepsi drinkers and Star Wars fans have three ways to play the "Call Upon Yoda" instant-win sweepstakes -- online, by phone, or by text messaging -- to see if they've won one of ten $100,000 grand prizes. Other prizes include Star Wars toys and games from Hasbro and Lego and free 2-liter bottles of Pepsi Lime. The sweepstakes will also bring fans closer to their favorite characters, Yoda, Darth Vader, C3PO and R2-D2 via unique Web-based interactive games and phone and text messaging programs.

Yoda also stars in a new Diet Pepsi commercial called "Jedi Mind Trick." The spot features the same award-winning special effects that ILM creates for Star Wars. Set in a diner, Yoda sits at the counter and uses "the Force" to try to get a Diet Pepsi to drink with his meal. A special appearance by the famous Wookiee, Chewbacca, ends the spot with typical Pepsi humor.

Darth Dew Slurpee

On the dark side, Darth Dew Slurpee is available at participating 7-Eleven(r) stores nationwide during the month of May. Introduced summer 2004, Mountain Dew Pitch Black is the popular limited-edition soda that combines the great taste of Mountain Dew with a blast of black grape flavor. Darth Dew Slurpee is modeled after Mountain Dew Pitch Black and will be served in four different "Episode III" collectible 3-FD cups with lids shaped like the head of Darth Vader.
